Hi, I’m Vanessa — and I know what it’s like to travel with a big crew.

As a mom of a family that doesn't fit the “standard 2 adults + 2 kids” mold, I’ve lived the challenges of trying to plan vacations where everyone is comfortable, happy, and actually relaxed.

I started Five Plus Travel because big families deserve better than squishing into too-small rooms, stressing over logistics, or arriving at a hotel only to find out… things aren’t what you expected.

The trip that sparked it all

On one of our family vacations to Florida, I booked two hotel rooms thinking they’d automatically be connected. (Because of course a family would want connecting rooms, right?)
Well… when we checked in, not only did they not have connecting rooms — they wanted to put us on two different floors. Cue panic.

We ended up waiting until late in the day for connecting rooms to open up, and the whole situation threw off the start of our trip. I remember thinking: Why is this so hard? Shouldn’t hotels and travel
companies make this easier for families like ours?

That was my lightbulb moment. Families of 5+ shouldn’t have to fight this hard for a smooth vacation.
